“This was a life changing excursion. It was a real demonstration of human qualities throughout! Intellectually it was deeply stimulating, utterly charming! So much went under the surface which we did not see but which enabled it to be unique.”

Professor John Wass, Head of Endocrinology at Oxford University

About Summit 30

By: Dr. Laily Mahoozi

4th May 2016, on this magical night in ‘Half of the World’, Isfahan, the final chants of Master Hossein Alizadeh’s alluring Tar conquered Summit 30!

Inspired by the epic work of the Persian philosopher and polymath Attar of Neyshapur; Summit 30 set the scene for thousands of souls that aspired to fly, to fly.

In the famed 12th century epic, ‘Conference of the Birds’, the wise Hoopoe or Hodhod invites all the birds to embark on a journey through the ‘Seven Valleys of Love’ in order to encounter their king bird; Simorgh.

In this tumultuous path, only thirty birds reach the peak of mount Qaf and in unity become the Simorgh.

Almost a thousand years pass and what stands is the urge for existence to travel, to grow, to search, to dream and to reach the unknown.

The notion of Summit 30 was born from such a desire, it called nations from all walks of life to unite on a mission of flight, an adventure of discovery and friendship in four major cities of Iran; Tehran, Neyshapur, Shiraz and Isfahan.

Through the unwavering support of  Attar Foundation, the Neurosurgical Society of Iran, the Cultural Heritage, Universities of Neyshapur, Shiraz and Isfahan, the public and a legion of sponsors whom shall be acknowledged one by one, a historical journey of world renowned neuroendocrinologists, neurosurgeons, literary masters, historians, artists, musicians, visionaries, politicians and sociologists was undertaken towards breaking the boundaries between the world of Art and Science, East and West and most importantly Silence and Expression.
